If you uploaded your member information on a CSV file and it is not processing, this is probably because of a formatting error. Don’t worry, there’s a very easy fix!
First of all, make sure that the file name (the name under which the CSV file has been saved) does not contain special characters such as:
".", ",","(","*","-","%","@","#","?" and others.
If this not the case, here are other aspects to keep in mind:
The top row titles (also known as the CSV mapping) and general formatting of your CSV file must remain consistent with the CSV file you sent Cuseum for your staff audition meeting.
For example, let’s say that your staff audition CSV file was created like this:
MemberName,MemberNumber,MemberLevel,ExpirationDate,EmailAddress.
Your Cuseum account will only recognize these headers when uploading your CSV files. Other headers will make the CSV upload fail (this is also case sensitive). Note that the order is not important at all, but the exact names and upper/lower case letters are mandatory.
Examples: Matching Staff Audition CSV File and Member CSV File
Staff Audition CSV File
MemberName | MemberNumber | MemberLevel | ExpirationDate | EmailAddress |
Jane Smith | 1234 | General | May 3, 2020
John Johnson | 7891 | General | May 3, 2020 |
Member CSV File
MemberName | MemberNumber | MemberLevel | ExpirationDate | EmailAddress |
Isabella Gardner | 7492 | Family | January 1, 2020
John Coolidge | 6127 | Individual | June 30, 2019
Helen Stevens | 8456 | Dual | January 1, 2020
Larz Anderson | 1625 | Individual | December 15, 2019 |
As you can see, both examples are correct, and they will upload without issues because the headers (top rows) are exactly what we set up for your account.
Incorrect CSV example
name | MemberNumber | MemberLevel | ExpirationDate | EmailAddress |
Isabella Gardner | 7492 | Family | January 1, 2020
John Coolidge | 6127 | Individual | June 30, 2019 |
As you can see on the table above, all of the headers are correct, except for "name". In this case, "name" should be "MemberName" per your audition/discussion/account set up that took place during your onboarding training. This CSV will fail if you try uploading it.
Still Having Trouble? Oh no!
