Tour stops are the bones of your tours! Every tour stop you create inside your tours gives your members the ability to dive in and engage with your exhibitions, murals, projects, tutorials, events, stories, and anything you want to display for them in your Cuseum-powered app.
How to Create a Tour Stop
First, access the tour you just created by clicking on its name, or by clicking the pencil icon (In my case, I will use the "Demo Tour" I just created):
The tour editor menu will appear:
We're looking for the "Tour Stops" menu on the left side of the screen (see image above as a reference). There are two stop types (buttons) in there and I will explain them right after explaining the "Add Direction" feature:
Add direction:
It allows you to literally add image-based coordinates between tour stops
You will be asked for a title, a description and an image (the image is the anchor/coordinate)
As an example, you could create your first direction with an image that displays "the quickest way" to reach the tour stop called "Mona Lisa". The image you upload can be anything (an arrow, or an indoor map highlighting where to turn, or a photo showing a perspective from a place where the Mona Lisa is visible)
Add stop:
It allows you to create tour stops. Tour stops have two types
Single point of interest, with no additional stop info:
This tour stop type will display a drop down list of objects you already created. Once you select your desired object and click on create, the app will display this object in "full screen" mode with no other additional information. Your tour stop is now a full screen view of the object you previously created in the Objects menu
β
"With its own description, may have multiple points of interest attached":
This tour stop type allows you to create a tour stop that has its own content (audio/video/image/text) + adding objects you previously created as points of interest.
This is a more dynamic type of tour stop that gives you flexibility over content + adding shortcuts to your objects (they are called points of interest - I call them shortcuts to simplify the explanation)
You will noticed that this tour stop type shows two tabs after you create it (Details, Description), so you can create/upload your independent content along with the points of interest you selected:
This is how a tour stop with independent content + assigned points of interest look like:
If you click on those points of interest, the app will open your objects in full screen so you can review them in depth, and then come back to the tour stop whenever you're ready to continue with the next ones (points of interest are shortcuts in this case instead of full screen tour stops as I mentioned above).
Feel free to play around with both tour stop types to find your desired goal, and also don't forget to add directions if you want to help you members with some orientation between tour stops!
